Ben Bergeron’s World Class Affiliate in 100 Words

We all know Greg Glassman’s World Class Fitness in 100 Words, but check out Ben Bergeron’s take on World Class Affiliate in 100 Words…

Commit to the development of your community. Pursue excellence, integrity, and connection at all cost.

Hone the skills of your coaches and continue encouraging their development.

Study human movement in meticulous detail. In the same way, master the concepts of fitness, nutrition, and CrossFit. Functionality, variance, and intensity are indispensable principles.

Program to increase general physical preparedness.

Encourage and attend to your athletes. Educate, entertain, and inspire them. Learn each member’s name. Cultivate and nurture these relationships, respecting each as a parent would, treating each as a lifelong friend.

The ultimate goal is the health and happiness of all members.

Food for thought. @projectelevation.co

What do you think about Bergeron’s definition of a world-class affiliate? Did he get it right or did he miss the mark?

Oh…and before you go Google World Class Fitness in 100 Words…here you go…

■ Eat meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds,
some fruit, little starch and no sugar. Keep
intake to levels that will support exercise but
not body fat.
■ Practice and train major lifts: Deadlift, clean,
squat, presses, C&J, and snatch. Similarly,
master the basics of gymnastics: pull-ups,
dips, rope climb, push-ups, sit-ups, presses to
handstand, pirouettes, flips, splits, and holds.
Bike, run, swim, row, etc, hard and fast.
■ Five or six days per week mix these elements
in as many combinations and patterns
as creativity will allow. Routine is the enemy.
Keep workouts short and intense.
■ Regularly learn and play new sports.
