Brittany Chestnutt narrowly missed qualifying for the CrossFit Games in 2014 and 2016. This past year she joined Team EaDo Elite Blue. The team finished 6th at the South Regional.

Two months ago Chestnutt won the Women’s Pro Division at the Granite Games. Chestnutt did this with two torn ulnar collateral ligaments (UCL) in her elbows. She tore both of her UCLs racking the bar on her back after an overhead squat in July.

In order to relieve the pain and continue with her plans to compete in the 2018 CrossFit Games season, Chestnutt received stem cell injections mixed with PRP (platelet-rich plasma) to reduce the inflammation and allow her body to heal her UCLs.

If successful, the procedure will have Chestnutt healthy enough to give it another run in 2018.

In July I tore both of my UCL’s trying to put an overhead squat on my back. I’ve never been in so much pain in my entire life. My coach and I have worked around the pain and discomfort for the last 4-5 months in order to keep me sane and keep me on track for my goals of going to the @crossfitgames in 2018 Obviously the training paid off because I won @thegranitegames in September with two torn UCL’s. But the amount of pain I was in after the competition and training proceeding told me I needed to do something about it. I am a single mother that works two jobs to keep my kid and myself going. The issue is with surgery I wouldn’t be able to work either of my jobs because I would be out of work for months. Today I went to Dr. Eugene Lou and Dr. Baxter to have a procedure done on both my elbows that involved Stem Cell Injections mixed with PRP (my own blood spun down). The stem cells are suppose to attack inflamed cells and help re-grow my UCL’s. They believe it is going to work and my goals of qualifying and competing at the 2018 @crossfitgames are still intact! Please keep me in your thoughts over the next couple weeks as the procedure goes to work on my elbows! • #studiofitnessheights #cambro #games2018 #crossfit #crossfitopen #crossfitgames #gainz #gym #workout #hardwork #run #running #wod #fit #fitness #fitfam #fitmoms #crossfitwomen #crossfitchicks #fitnessmotivation #getfit #instagood #eatclean #health #motivation #gym #gymlife #dreambig #instagood • • @studiofitnessheights @vitalkitchenco @cam.bro @crossfit @crossfitgames @eatsleeprecover @randrews8 @american_gainz
