Over the weekend Cody Mooney shared that he recently had surgery to repair a torn labrum in his left shoulder. Mooney said the injury occurred between the Open and Regionals this past year.
Despite the injury, Mooney was able to qualify for his first CrossFit Games appearance where he finshed 18th in Madison.
After discussions with several doctors, Mooney decided it was best to get surgery now. As we mentioned after Camille Leblanc-Bazinet’s labrum surgery, the rehab process can take upwards of 9-12 months to feel back at 100%. We are around 20 weeks out from the start of the 2018 CrossFit Open. Stay tuned to see if Mooney can rehab fast enough to compete next year.
Every road has some bumps. For most that don’t know, I tore my labrum in-between the open and regionals this year. After seeing a few docs and making sure we were on the same page, I went ahead and got work done! Stoked on how it went, and so thankful for all the text and prayers. Now time for a good speedy recover so I can be back better than ever 🤙 #godisgood #recovery #journey #blessed @paleopowermeals #teamppm @misfitathletics #teammisfit @progenex #teamprgnx @fitaid #teamfitaid
