CrossFit can be intimidating for those who are thinking about trying it. From acronyms to a millions different movements to the intensity, people not familiar with CrossFit can feel alienated.
Learning the proper technique can also be frustrating. Everyone starts somewhere, even someone like CrossFit Games veteran Julie Foucher.
Over the weekend, Foucher showed a video from one of her first CrossFit workouts. In the video, Foucher is seen learning how to clean. Using a light weight and struggling to remember proper technique, Foucher watches the video every year on her “CrossFit anniversary” which over the weekend was her eighth.
Foucher reminds everyone that “Fitness is a lifelong journey, and the goal is health and quality of life,” in her caption. So far Foucher has received almost 70,000 likes on her motivational post.
I watch this video every year on my #CrossFitAnniversary and it never gets old! This was from one of my first intro sessions, struggling to remember what each movement was called, let alone how to do it. . It’s easy to become frustrated or feel like progress is happening too slowly, but always remember where you started. Fitness is a lifelong journey, and the goal is health and quality of life. 💪🏼 . #8YearsAgo #Barbell101 #ForeverGoBlue
