What is interesting so far about the first three workouts is that none of them feature a barbell! In 2016, five of the seven workouts used a barbell.

Also, all three workouts are very shoulder intensive. From Strict HSPUs with a weight vest in Event 1 to dumbbell snatches and ring dips in Event 2 and now Event 3. While we haven’t seen anything super heavy, the athletes will be feeling the burn on moving day.

  1. Are you certain it’s DB overhead walking lunges? Just because the weight is the same used for the DB snatches doesn’t mean we will see DBs for the lunges. He also only writes ‘O’ and not OH which is what we typically see for the overhead. I am going to throw it out there and guess that the ‘O’ stands for object or odd object and the lunges will involve walking with a 80/55lb d-ball either overhead or bear hug. I guess we won’t know for sure until it is posted on the games website!
