Granite Games Begins Releasing Events

With the 2017 Kill Cliff Granite Games just over a week away, some of the events are starting to be released. The three day event features several divisions including Pro Individual, Masters, Teens, Community Teams and Teams of 3.

Here’s a look at what we know so far.

Swim

On Saturday, all divisions will be getting wet. Every division will be jumping in the lake for a 400-meter swim. If it’s anything like the Beach Swim at last year’s CrossFit Games, it will be a brutal sprint. The Games swim was 500m so a shorter swim and calmer waters could mean pandemonium getting into the water.

Down N’ Back

The individuals competing face some really heavy deadlifts paired with handstand walks and handstand push-ups. For the Pro division, men will be deadlifting 405 pounds and women will be picking up 275 pounds. The weights are doable, but could add up.

Deadman Walking

The Community and Teams of 3 will do a spin on the individual Down N’ Back, but with a twist for the teams. Throw in partner deadlifts and some synchronized handstand push-ups in the Community division.

Community Teams

As MF pairs:
3 Rounds for time of:
Pair one completes
15 partner deadlift (500lbs)
Pair two completes
20ft unbroken handstand walk (each)
20 synchronized handstand push-ups
20ft unbroken handstand walk (each)
*Once work is completed, pairs will change places. After they have finished the required work in both stations, this is a completed round. Teams will complete a total of three rounds.

Pro Men

5 rounds for time
20 partner deadlifts (495lbs)
20ft handstand walk*
20 strict handstand push-ups
20ft handstand walk*
*all handstand walks must be unbroken for the 20ft; ALL ATHLETES must complete the 20ft

Pro Women

5 rounds for time
20 partner deadlifts (325lbs)
20ft handstand walk*
15 strict handstand push-ups
20ft handstand walk*
*all handstand walks must be unbroken for the 20ft; ALL ATHLETES must complete the 20ft
