The organizers pulled off a big surprise this morning for the individual Pro athletes. Early this morning at 5:30am, all 60 athletes (30 male and 30 female) piled onto buses and were off to an unknown location.
After a long drive, they arrived at Powder Ridge Recreation Area, signed waivers and waited for the event announcement – the 5.11 Trail Run. The trail run is 2 miles up and down the ski slopes…with a weight vest!
Scott Cottrill and Lindsey Cascarina won the men’s and women’s sides, respectively. Here are the official results.
But that was not all…
After an hour break, the athletes face a 250m sprint up one of the steep ski slopes in heats of five.
The day is not over after this as the athletes will head back to Hockey Center for an Assault Bike and Shoulder-to-Overhead couplet.
