It is the event we have all been waiting for! For years, CrossFit Games fans have been hoping to see the CrossFit Total programmed at the Games. The Total was the final event of the first CrossFit Games in 2007.
Since then, the back squat and CrossFit Total has not been programmed…until now. After a hint yesterday afternoon by Dave Castro, the CrossFit Games Instagram account shared the event details.
Athletes will have four minutes to perform three attempts of each lift. The highest lift of the back squat, shoulder press and deadlift will be added up after those 12 minutes to score their total.
Back in 2007, Connor Banks won the event with a 1,225-pound total. For the women, Nichole Dehart topped the leaderboard with 530 pounds.
Those will be shattered this year…so get your popcorn ready for Wednesday evening!
