Jeff Evans missed qualifying for regionals in 2015. He was one legless rope climb ‘no rep’ away from qualifying for the CrossFit Games in 2016. And this year, a pec injury would end Evans’ 2017 season. Those setbacks were the ones that we, as fans, saw.
But in a Facebook post by Evans, there has been a lot more going on away from the competition floor and even outside of CrossFit.
Evans writes, “Over the past 3 I’ve been through so many situations that have made it hard to really focus on what I truly want. A business partnership ended, being dead broke multiple times, rope climb in 2016, a tough break up, tearing my hamstring before the open, almost not making it to regionals and now a pec strain to put me out when I felt it was my time.”
He ends his Facebook post with, “I’m building myself into the person I need to be so when the time comes to be #1 in whatever I’m doing I WILL be ready. Thank you all again for everything.”
Here is Evans in Event 2 where he injures his pec this past weekend.

And here is the legless rope climb no rep from last year…
