After several women withdrew from the 2017 CrossFit Games earlier in the week, the men’s side had its first athlete drop from the competition. Mitchell Sinnamon pulled out of the Games before taking the floor for Heavy 17.5.

Sinnamon told The Barbell Spin that he has been dealing with a wrist injury leading up to the Games. His wrist was feeling better by Thursday, but the wear and tear over the course of nine events took its toll. Sinnamon was unable to bend his wrist and was not going to be able to complete the minimum work requirement to continue past the heavy thruster event.

Sinnamon struggled to get anything going all week. His best finish was 16th on the 1RM Snatch event.
