Sara Sigmundsdottir’s coach Phil Mansfield shared a quick 3-minute video where he shared his thoughts on how he thought the first day of the 2018 CrossFit Games went for the Icelander.
Sigmundsdottir started off with a poor finish on the bike due to a miscalculated strategy, but would slowly claw her way back into the top 10 by day’s end. Sigmundsdottir attempted to pick up the pace on the Crit a bit too early and faded to 21st on Event 1. From there, she hit her times on the 30 muscle-ups, set two PRs on the CrossFit Total (back squat and deadlift) and beat her pacing goal on the row by 6 minutes.
