The 2017 CrossFit Games will likely be Stacie Tovar’s last. In an interview with WOWT News in Omaha, Nebraska, Tovar said, “There’s a little bit less pressure this year because it’s my final year. I’ve got nothing to lose. I’ve got everything to gain. I’m just out there to have a great time.”

Tovar, 32, will be competing at her 8th CrossFit Games after competing in the sport for the past 10 years. Tovar’s first appearance at the Games was in 2009 and has made it back every year except in 2014 (the same year Lindsey Valenzuela, Sam Briggs and Katrin Davidsdottir all missed).

On reflecting back over her CrossFit career, TovarĀ told WOWT News, “It’s been an awesome nine years, full of incredible memories. The people I’ve met, the communities I’ve been to has been incredible. But, all good things must come to an end eventually.”

After Tovar hangs up her competitive Nanos, she will focus on her CrossFit gym, CrossFit Omaha, with her husband, Dustin.
