Tia-Clair Toomey will no longer be competing at the Australian CrossFit Championship in January. Tia had previously accepted the invitation to compete however she has advised that she will not be travelling to this event. While this is, of course, disappointing news for many fans, we are still very excited to deliver a world class event that showcases some of the best athletes in the sport. Official athlete list to be confirmed very shortly. #auscrossfitchamp #crossfit #crossfitgames
Toomey and her husband, Shane Orr, moved to Cookeville, Tennessee, this past fall. Rather than travel across the globe, Toomey will be competing a week earlier in Miami at the Wodapalooza CrossFit Festival.
Toomey is not the only top athlete that will not be competing at the Australian CrossFit Championship. Fellow Australian, Kara Saunders, will also be sitting out. Saunders’ reason, however, is because she is pregnant with her first child.
The full list of athletes competing in Australia will be released soon.
