Team USA made another podium on Monday at the 2017 Pan American Championships. This time, Caitlin Hogan, earned a bronze medal in the snatch, a silver in the clean & jerk and another silver in the total.

Hogan, a 53kg lifter, went 6-for-6 finishing with an 86kg snatch, 107kg clean & jerk and 193kg total. The total tied the current American Record set by Melanie Roach at the 2008 Olympics.

Hogan’s total was 1kg behind the gold medal winner, Rosane Dos Reis (Brazil). Hogan, however, would have needed a 109kg clean & jerk to leapfrog Dos Reis for the gold.

In the same session, Courtney Batchelor failed to record a successful snatch, but came back to hit a 101kg clean & jerk. Later on Monday, Jessica Lucero took the platform. Lucero struggled going 2-for-6 for a 199kg total.
