If you were wanting to compete at this year’s Down Under Championship, it is now your time to sign up. Registration for the DUC23 online qualifier is now open. You won’t have to throw down just yet as the first qualifier workouts won’t be released until August, but might as well sign up and commit to competing.
The DUC23 will have two weeks of online qualifiers. The first week will be for the Masters, Futures (aka Teens) and Intermediate Teams. That will take place from Monday, August 21 to Friday, August 25.
Them, beginning on September 4 and running through September 8, the Elite Individuals and Elite Teams qualifier will take place. So if you’re able to compete at the highest level, this week is for you.
Registration for the online qualifier costs $40AUD for individuals and $120AUD for teams. But, once you register you will be able to take advantage of some deals from DUC’s partners, TWL and FitAID. Both are providing a $10 voucher on qualified orders.
For those good enough to advance to the live in-person competition, the 2023 Down Under Championship finals will take place once again at the WIN Entertainment Centre in Wollongong.
But that’s not all! The Down Under Championship is also looking to host adaptive divisions again this year and are asking for those who want to compete to register their interest so the organizers can best accommodate the athletes.
Last year, the 2022 Down Under Championship saw Madeline Sturt and Jay Crouch take the top spot in the Elite individual divisions. And in the elite teams of 3 divisions, the men’s trio of Noah Ohlsen, Chandler Smith and Saxon Panchik walked away with the men’s elite team title while Emily de Rooy, Christee Hollard and Briony Challis won the women’s elite team division.
