The 2023 Legends Championship is heading back to Arizona. This year’s competition will be held at Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona. Masters athletes who qualify for the in-person competition will take the competition floor December 7-10 at the home of the Sun Devils.
The Legends Championship is a masters-only competition that began in 2019 at Offshore CrossFit in Carlsbad, California. Since then, it has grown year after year. In 2020, the championship was held in Phoenix, Arizona. The following year it moved to San Diego, California, and last year it was at CrossFit Mayhem in Cookeville, Tennessee.
And now it is heading back to Arizona for 2023.
The Legends Championship features several divisions including Individual Rx and Individual Scaled. It also has two team divisions based on age.
For athletes looking to compete this year there are several ways to qualify for the championship. Here’s how it works:
- 2022 Legends Champion invite
- 2023 Games Athletes invite
- Top 2 or 3 finishers at the Masters Mexico and Monster Games championships
- Legends Online Qualifier
Based on the number of spots available in each age group, the online qualifier will be used to fill the line-up. So there could be more or less spots available in each age group depending on how many athletes accept their invite prior to the online qualifier.
The online qualifier will run from August 16 through September 6. More details will come as it gets closer to the start of the qualifier. Stay tuned.
