2026 TYR Wodapalooza Moving to March!

For 13 years Wodapalooza has been a mainstay in January. But next year, TYR WZA is moving to March. In an announcement this afternoon, the 2026 TYR Wodapalooza will be March 12-15.

The 2026 edition of TYR Wodapalooza will remain in Miami Beach, which was a new venue in its tenured history. Prior to this year, Wodapalooza had always been at Bayfront Park in Miami.

The move to March brings several questions…

First, how will this impact the CrossFit Open? This year the Open runs from February 27 to March 17. It would very likely be same dates next year. How will athletes manage completing one of the Open workouts while down in Miami Beach?

Second, why the move? Well, right now it appears to be a financial decision. During a Finance and Economic Resiliency Committee meeting in Miami Beach on June 28, 2025, officials discussed their plans to shift Spring Break in Miami Beach away from a party atmosphere and focus on health and wellness.

In that meeting (you can watch below), the city has met with HYROX and Loud & Live (they own Wodapalooza) to discuss bringing their events to Miami Beach in March. HYROX told Miami Beach officials that they needed $600,000 for them to bring the hybrid competition to Miami Beach.

Loud & Live gave an even larger number. They told Miami Beach they needed $800,000.

Subsequent Miami Beach budget meetings approved the $1.4 million expenditure and it now appears that Loud & Live is making the move.

And from what I have heard, HYROX has also accepted Miami Beach’s offer. To make it even crazier, I have been told Miami Beach will also host a marathon later that month.

With TYR WZA on March 12-15, it appears that HYROX will be the following weekend (March 21-22) and the Miami Beach Marathon after that (March 28). HYROX and the marathon dates have not yet been confirmed.
