The 2023 CrossFit German Throwdown was this past weekend and Adrian Mundwiler and Nicole Heer held off the rest of the competition to take the elite men’s and women’s title, respectively.
For Mundwiler, it was a welcome return to the top of a leaderboard. The 4-time CrossFit Games veteran has struggled to stay healthy ever since he withdrew from the 2021 CrossFit Games. But this past weekend the Swiss-born Mundwiler was able to put it all together to climb his way to the top of the leaderboard.
While he was unable to earn an event win, he was consistent throughout all six events and had two 2nd place event finishes. Marek Vacha and Felix Rehder took 2nd and 3rd place overall, respectively.
Men’s Podium
1. Adrian Mundwiler – 29 points
2. Marek Vacha – 38
3. Felix Rehder – 42
The women’s competition was tight until the very end. Heading into the final event, Nicole Heer and Astrid Tind were tied for 1st place with Jana Geertz just two points back. Heer would take 2nd in the final event to earn the overall victory. Geertz would cross the line in 4th place, but it was not enough to pass Tind, who crossed the line in 6th place.
Women’s Podium

2. Astrid Tind – 33
3. Jana Geertz – 33
