CrossFit Games Athlete Mikaela Norman Breaks HYROX World Record

Over the weekend, HYROX held its 2022 HYROX Hamburg competition with the top athletes looking to secure a spot in the Elite 15 division and qualify for the 2022 HYROX European and HYROX North American championships. Mikaela Norman, a two-time CrossFit Games team athlete, took to the competition floor in Hamburg and ended up setting a new female world record in the functional fitness sport.

Norman, who competed on CrossFit Nordic Original’s team at the 2022 CrossFit Games, finished the race featuring eight 1km runs with functional fitness movements between each run in world breaking time. Norman crossed the finish line in just over an hour at 1:00:45.

That time beat the previous world record set by Megan Jacoby in Chicago by over a minute.
