Gui Malheiros’ 2026 Plan: WFP, CrossFit Games & Rogue Invitational

Gui Malheiros will be making another run at the CrossFit Games in 2026. Malheiros, who elected to not compete in the 2025 CrossFit Games season, shared his competitive goals for this year. This year Malheiros will focus on the World Fitness Project season, qualifying for the CrossFit Games and competing at the Rogue Invitational.

Malheiros said he entered the year with the primary focus on competing in all three of the WFP events – London, Indianapolis and Copenhagen. He decided to register for the CrossFit Open to just do it, but has now shifted his intentions to attempt to return to the CrossFit Games.

Taking on a busier schedule this year does have a strategic purpose…securing an invite to the Rogue Invitational. Malheiros is currently ranked 17th in the Rogue Points System, the primary method used to invite athletes to the Invitational.

Malheiros admitted that he slipped down the rankings after not competing in the CrossFit Games season last year on top of not doing as well as he hoped in the WFP. So by having a better season and competing at the Games will help him secure an invite and not have to do the online qualifier for the Rogue Invitational.

How he qualifies for the CrossFit Games is likely to go through the online Semifinals. However, Malheiros said if he qualifies for an in-person Semifinal that doesn’t conflict with his calendar he might accept the invite.

For his Brazilian fans who hoped he would travel to Brazil for this year’ Copa Sur, that will not happen as he will be in London for the WFP Tour Stop 1. The two competitions fall on the same weekend, May 1-3, this year.

With Copa Sur out, that leaves only a few options. The Legends Championship and Syndicate Crown will both be sending out invites based on the Quarterfinals leaderboard. Malheiros is sitting in 12th worldwide and will receive an invite to both.

Legends Championship is April 24-26, one week before WFP London. Syndicate Crown is May 29-31, two weeks before Online Semifinals. The NorCal Classic is the same weekend as Syndicate Crown and they have held back 15 special invites, one of which could be for Malheiros.

So that is Malheiros’ plan for this year. He will prioritize the WFP season, but will look to qualify for the 2026 CrossFit Games and hopefully receive an invite to the 2026 Rogue Invitational.
