The men’s field at the Rogue Invitational was slated to have all of the top 15 finishers at the Games in attendance. That is, until last night. In a change to the roster on the Rogue Invitational website, Guilherme Malheiros is no longer on the list of athletes competing later this month.
In his place, Henrik Haapalainen will round out the men’s field. Haapalainen, who was 24th overall at the 2022 CrossFit Games, finished 6th in The Q, Rogue Inviational’s online qualifier. Haapalainen is no stranger to the Rogue Invitational. Last year, the two-time CrossFit Games athlete from Finland finished 17th at the 2021 Rogue Invitational.

Let’s go!!
In speaking with Malheiros, he told The Barbell Spin that he is currently unable to travel to the United States as he works through his visa process. Malheiros, originally from Brazil, applied for an O1-A visa. He said that it was supposed to be approved two weeks ago, but that it has not yet been approved.
Malheiros is currently in Brazil and will be hosting a “Train with Gui” training camp down in Florianopolis, Brazil, on November 11-13.
Malheiros is the second Games athlete to deal with visa issues this offseason. Ellie Turner recently had her visa application approved and will be able to compete at the Rogue Invitational.
The Rogue Invitational is just two weeks away. The three-day competition hosted by Rogue Fitness is from October 28-30 in Austin, Texas.
