Jacob Heppner Wins 2022 Tactical Games National Championship

From coach to athlete, those are the roles Jacob Heppner has played over the past two weekends. Last weekend, Heppner was in Austin, Texas, coaching Olivia Kerstetter at the Rogue Invitational. This past weekend Heppner was in Florence, Texas, competing at the 2022 Tactical Games National Championship.

Back in August, Heppner won the Kansas Regional. Now three months later, the CrossFit Games veteran is back on top of the podium. Heppner finished with 1,113 points and just 17 points ahead of Austin Aylward who took 2nd overall.

There were 13 events over the course of three days. Heppner would end up winning six of the scored events and finished no worse that 12th on any event in the Men’s Elite division.

The victory comes a year after he finished 2nd overall at the 2021 National Championship.

Other CrossFit Games veterans were also in attendance. Ehea Schuerch finished 2nd overall in the Women’s Elite division. Jared Stevens and Cody Anderson also competed in the Men’s Elite division where they finished 16th and 18th, respectively.

The Tactical Games is a competition that merges firearms skill and fitness. The competition is designed to “test the skills, readiness, and mental toughness” through a series of combat-related tasks and fitness challenges.
