Saxon Panchik Battled COVID While Competing at Rogue Invitational

If you were checking the Rogue Invitational this weekend you might have noticed that Saxon Panchik was not where many expected him to be. Coming off an 11th place finish at this year’s CrossFit Games, Panchik was expected to vie for a top 10 finish at the Rogue Invitational. However, Panchik seemed to struggle throughout the weekend where he would end up finishing 16th.

But it appears there was a reason for why Panchik was near the bottom of the leaderboard. After feeling mentally ready to compete, Panchik said he just did not feel right physically. He commented that it felt like his body was “shutting down each event.”

Finally, on Sunday Panchik took a COVID test, which came back positive.

Panchik is scheduled to travel to Australia to compete at the 2022 Down Under Championship in November.
