Two weeks ago, TYR Wodapalooza dropped the equipment list needed for the upcoming online qualifier. The standard equipment was there – a barbell and plates, plyo box, dummbells, a jump rope, pull-up rig and a medball. But then there was also…an Echo Bike.
The Echo Bike, or any air bike, has never been programmed in the CrossFit Open or any other large-scale online qualifier (to my knowledge).
But for the Teams of 3 online qualifier, the Echo Bike was on the equipment list.
As you might have expected the comments section exploded with many asking whether an Assault Bike could be used. Others explained that much of South America could not compete as Echo Bikes are hard to find.
Last night, organizers of TYR Wodapalooza Miami announced that the Echo Bike had been removed from the online qualifier. The Concept2 rower would be used instead for the Teams of 3.
The Teams of 3 Online Qualifier for the 2025 TYR Wodapalooza Miami begins Thursday, October 31.
