Wes Kitts Breaks His Own American Record

On Monday night at the 2017 IWF World Championships, Wes Kitts broke his own American Record. Kitts, competing in the 105kg weight category, successfully snatched 176kg (388 pounds) on his second attempt.

The record-breaking snatch was 1kg better than Kitts’ current record that he set in July at the USAW National Championships.

Kitts would follow up his snatch with a 210kg clean and jerk, good for a 386kg total and 10th place overall. Competing alongside Kitts was Team USA teammate Ian Wilson. Wilson finished 15th overall with a 367kg total.
