The Legends Championship is just 16 days away. The in-person Semifinal is slated to host 400 athletes, between elite individuals and Masters divisions. The problem, however, is that only 95 of those roster spots have been confirmed.
The Legends Championship is using a combination of ways to fill its roster – 2025 CrossFit Games performance, special invites and 2026 Quarterfinals performance.Â
After the special invites and invites to those who did well at the 2025 CrossFit Games, there are numerous spots still remaining. Those are slated to go to athletes who did well at Quarterfinals. But with just over two weeks before the start of the competition, not one division is 50% full.
Despite the Quarterfinals leaderboard not being officially finalized (CrossFit set a deadline for this Friday, April 10), the Legends Championship began sending out invites on Monday, April 6. Athletes were given 48 hours to respond (accept or decline) before moving on to athletes further down the leaderboard.
We know that athletes have started accepting their invites as the Legends Championship have highlighted those registrations on their Instagram stories. Yet there are still over 300 spots to fill.
In fact, four Age Group divisions only have one (yes, 1!) registered athlete. The Women’s 60-64, Men’s 65-69, Women’s 65-69 and Women’s 70+ have one athlete each currently on the leaderboard.
The elite individual field is not much better. As of this morning (Tuesday, April 8), only six men and 8 women are on the Competition Corner leaderboard. Most had already accepted their invite weeks ago based on their finish at the 2025 CrossFit Games.
