2025 CrossFit Games Prize Money Breakdown

This year the prize money for the 2025 CrossFit Games season was tied to CrossFit Open registrations. Appendix F of the CrossFit Games rulebook laid out how the prize money would be distributed between affiliates, Open, Semifinals and the CrossFit Games.

The rulebook, however, based those payouts on an estimated 300,000 athletes registering for the CrossFit Open.

Now that the 2025 CrossFit Open is officially closed, along with registrations (yes, people continue to sign up for the Open after the 25.1 submission window closes), we can calculate the payouts.

First, by my calculations, there were 235,523 total registrations, including the Adaptive Divisions on Competition Corner. Note, the official count has not been confirmed by CrossFit. However, based on my count, a total of $2,355,230 will be allocated to the 2025 CrossFit Games season prize purse.

That prize money will then be distributed as follows:

Recipient Percentage Amount
Open – Affiliate Prizes 20% $471,046
Open – Top Individual Performers 5% $117,762
Individual Semifinals 3% $70,657
Individual Games 49% $1,154,063
Affiliate Cup Games (teams) 10% $235,523
Masters 10% $235,523
Adaptive 3% $70,657

Open – Affiliate Prizes

The Affiliate Open prizes are split between participation and performance. The top affiliates will receive a $2,500 Rogue Fitness gift card. Affiliates can only win one gift card, even if they qualified to win based on both participation and performance.

Based on $471,046, this equates to 188 total gift cards available (94 for participation and 94 for performance). The number of gift cards per region is as follows:

Region Participation Performance
NA East 14 14
Europe 14 14
NA West 14 14
Oceania 13 13
South America 13 13
Asia 13 13
Africa 13 13

Open – Top Individual Performers

The Open – Top Individual Performers prize money is split 50/50 between the top finishers each week and the overall Open podium finishers. As such, $58,881 is awarded to individual workout performances and $58,881 is awarded to the top 3 overall finishers.
