2026 CrossFit Games Day 1: 2007 Hopper Workout and Ranch 7200 Announced

Day 1 of the 2026 CrossFit Games will be on Wednesday, July 22, and will be at various locations away from the SAP Center. And we now know the first two individual events of the CrossFit Games.

IE01 – The 2007 Hopper

For time:
1,000-meter row
Then,
5 rounds of:
25 pull-ups
7 push jerks (85/135 lbs)

For those who are not familiar with CrossFit Games history, this workout was the very first workout programmed at the 2007 CrossFit Games. Dave Castro used the Hopper to draw out the movements before programming the workout.

This year athletes will repeat that first workout.

IE02 – Ranch 7200

7,200-meter Trail Run

This event is at Dave Castro’s Ranch. In a subsequent post, Castro shared a Strava animation of the course.

Athletes will run the approximately 1.1-mile loop a total of four times. After the first two loops, athletes will turn around and run the loop two more times in the opposite direction.

The athlete who tested it ran the course in just under 51 minutes at an 11:17/mile pace. The total elevation gain topped out at 1,568 feet throughout the course.

Rest of Wednesday?

We only know Events 1 and 2 so far, but we do know that athletes will swim at the Morgan Hill Aquatic Center. And based on the schedule, that will take place after 2:45pm on Wednesday as the pool schedule closes to the public at that time.

On top of that we know athletes will be on a bike at some point. Could they end up going from the Ranch to complete IE3 for a bike event followed by the swim later that evening?
