Annie Thorisdottir looked strong midway through Event 9, Chaos, on Saturday at the 2018 CrossFit Games. But as Katrin Davidsdottir and others repped out 36-inch box jumps, Annie Thorisdottir was experiencing something much more serious.
According to Thorisdottir, she started to experience heart arrhythmia on her fifth box jump. It happened twice more before she was able to finish her 25th rep and move on to the 300-pound tumbler pull.
Thorisdottir ended up slipping all the way down to 21st in the event.
Apparently this is something that Thorisdottir has been dealing with since she was a teenager. She encounters this three to four times per year, but has never happened during a competition.
After two middle-of-the-pack finishes on Saturday, Thorisdottir entered the Bicouplet events in 5th overall.
