The 2019 CrossFit Games season has officially begun. The top men, women and teams kicked off the Dubai CrossFit Championship today at the Al Marmoon Desert Preserve.
After two events, Sam Briggs and Alex Kotoulas lead the pack. Briggs has taken 2nd in both beach events Kotoulas has a 3rd and 1st place finish under his belt. Similar to the CrossFit Games, the top 3 finishers of each event walk away with some money. $3,000 goes to 1st, $2,000 to 2nd and $1,000 to 3rd.
Mat Fraser is in 4th after two events. Fraser won Event 1, but took 9th on Event 2. Laura Horvath is in 5th place after two 5th place finishes.
On the team side, CrossFit Invictus is in 1st place followed by Team Sweden and “Cassidy, Jen, Adrian and Lukas”. CrossFit Invictus is made up of four CrossFit Games veterans – Lauren Fisher, Regan Huckaby, Tommy Vinas and Rasmus Anderson.
