Camille Leblanc-Bazinet Will Not Compete at Asia CrossFit Championship

The Asia CrossFit Championship (ACC) is just under three weeks away and while many are getting ready to travel around the world to compete in an attempt to earn an invitation to the CrossFit Games, Camille Leblanc-Bazinet will be staying home.

In an Instagram post, Leblanc-Bazinet announced that she will not be competing in the ACC, citing high travel costs along with the tight turnaround time to compete in the USA Weightlifting National Championships. The ACC announced that she would be competing back on March 1, something that Leblanc-Bazinet also apologized for since the details of the trip to China had not been finalized.

The announcement follows the news from last week that Leblanc-Bazinet would be joining Team ROMWOD/WIT to compete at the 2019 CrossFit Games. Leblanc-Bazinet will replace Jamie Greene who will go to the Games as an individual. The 2014 CrossFit Games champ will team up with Jessica Griffith, Alec Smith and Cody Mooney.

The ACC still has some big name athletes lined up to compete. CrossFit Games veterans like Brent Fikowski, Kristin Holte, Jacob Heppner, Zeke Grove, Alethea Boon, Eik Gylfadottir along with CrossFit Mayhem Freedom and CrossFit Invictus are scheduled to compete.

As for the USAW National Championships, the event is May 9-12 in Memphis, Tennessee. Leblanc-Bazinet will be competing in the 59k weight category.
