CrossFit Games Veterans Form Super Team to Compete in Dubai CrossFit Championship

The first super team in the new CrossFit Games structure has formed. CrossFit Games veterans Cassidy Lance-McWherter, Jen Smith, Adrian Mundwiler and Lukas Esslinger have teamed up to compete at the Dubai CrossFit Championship (“DCC”).

The four Games veterans are sitting atop the team leaderboard of the online qualifier to qualify for the DCC in December. After Week 1, the team, called “Cassidy, Jen, Adrian, Lukas” on the leaderboard, took 1st in both workouts and have two points.

They sit ahead of Central Beasts, a team comprised by Nicole Holcomb, Emma Chapman, Joseph Tortora and Zach Sowder, who have 4 points total.

CrossFit Invictus also has two teams near the top of the leaderboard. Last year’s 2nd place team at the CrossFit Games, Invictus X, is tied for 4th, while the team of Lauren Fisher, Regan Huckaby, Tommy Vinas and Rasmus Anderson are in 3rd overall.

Week 1 Leaderboard of 2019 Dubai CrossFit Championship Online Qualifier Workout 18.2 was released yesterday, October 10. Athletes have until October 14 to submit scores. After that 18.3 will be the final scored event(s). The top 10 teams will be invited to travel to Dubai to compete in the Finals.
