CrossFit Team Series Preview

CrossFit debuted the Team Series competition in 2014 allowing athletes to form “super teams”. No longer was training at the same affiliate a requirement as it is during the CrossFit Games. In the end, Team Reebok East (Ben Smith, Scott Panchik, Stacie Tovar and Emily Bridgers) stood atop the podium by beating the likes of Rich Froning and Jason Khalipa (Rogue Fitness Black) and Camille LeBlanc-Bazinet (Rogue Fitness Red).

This year Team Reebok East is back, but with a new name and a new team member. Team Reebok Classics will return Smith, Tovar and Bridgers. Paul Tremblay will replace Panchik as recovers from surgery on his ruptured plantar fascia. Tremblay finished 31st in the 2014 CrossFit Games and placed 7th in the 2015 East Regional.

As for their competition?

Rich Froning is still on Rogue Team Black. However, CrossFit Games veterans Margaux Alvarez and Josh Bridges will join Froning and Sam Briggs this year.

The 2015 Fittest Woman on Earth, Katrin Davidsdottir, headlines the Built by Bergeron team. Alongside Davidsdottir is Mat Fraser, Michele Letendre and Cole Sager. All of the athletes have trained together in the past and are familiar with each other.
