Dallin Pepper Wins Workout 4 Via Tiebreak in Taylor Self vs The World

Taylor Self, Colten Mertens, Dallin Pepper and Jayson Hopper are all at CrossFit Crash for the Quarterfinals workouts. The four athletes are throwing down as part of Taylor Self vs The World on The Sevan Podcast. Fee Saghafi and Lindsey Lane are also taking on the workouts ahead of the guys.

This morning Workout 4, the clean & jerk workout, was on tap. Saghafi and Lane started it off with Saghafi finishing with an unofficial score of 58 total reps (28 on the final barbell) while Lane ended with 54 reps.

One the men’s side, Dallin Pepper and Colten Mertens tied with 61 reps, but Pepper won via the tiebreaker as he finished the third weight faster than Mertens. Behind them was Taylor Self with 60 reps and Jayson Hopper finished with 58 reps.

All six athletes finished the first three barbells right around four minutes, leaving them with approximately five minutes (after the one minute rest) to work on the max clean and jerks at the heaviest weight – 245 pounds for the men and 165 pounds for the women.
