Dave Castro Didn’t Test 19.5

Dave Castro has been out of the spotlight during this year’s Open. This year there were no cryptic Instagram posts hinting at the Open workouts nor was he involved in any of the live announcements.

Castro did, however, give a glimpse into the Open programming as he completed each workout.

For 19.1 Castro played with a 12-minute AMRAP but changed it to 15 minutes…he liked the longer version more. Castro also tested 19.3, saying the strict handstand push-ups were harder the second time around. On 19.4, Castro did his first set of bar muscle-ups unbroken in testing…he did the same during the Open.

And for 19.5, Castro commented that he did not test the 105 thrusters and 105 chest-to-bar pull-ups. He said, “Today was the first time I did it and I didn’t have anyone test it. There was no reason for testing, I didn’t need someone to do this to know how horrible it was going to be.”
