Denmark National Champion Frederik Aegidius Withdraws from CrossFit Games

Frederik Aegidius withdrew from the CrossFit Games before Event 1 due his back. The seven-time regional athlete and five-time Games veteran finished as the Denmark national champion at the close of the 2019 Open.

This is my 5th year at the CrossFit Games. Every year the tests gets harder, competition gets tougher and the athletes rise to the occasion. I am in the best shape I’ve ever been in, but my back was not having it this year. Making the choice not to take the floor is always hard as a competitor, but taking the floor knowing that you will not meet your own expectations are even worse. Now, it’s about getting @anniethorisdottir And @bk_gudmundsson on the podium.

The 32-year-old finished 21st overall at last year’s Games. His best finish at the Games came in 2013, where he took 15th overall.
