Double-Under Crossovers Returning to CrossFit Games

Double-Under Crossovers were first introduced to the CrossFit Games three years. In 2022, when Adrian Bozman was programming the Games, Double-Under Crossovers were near the end of the Skill Speed Medley.

This year they are coming back. In a post on Instagram, the CrossFit Games shared a video of Alison Scudds doing Double-Under Crossovers with the caption, “Hope you’ve been practicing.”

When the new jump rope skill was debuted, only a few athletes got a crack at them. Only 25 DU Crossovers were programmed, but most of the athletes in the final elimination round struggled. Nick Mathew being the exception.

Mathew was the only athlete to string together a large set. He would also go on to win the event. Justin Medeiros, Gui Malheiros and Pat Vellner were able to get through them, but it was not easy. Ricky Garard did not finish.

Since that year, athletes have been practicing the new skill in case it ever appeared again. Many have even said they wanted to see them come back to show they are better prepared than they were in 2022.

Now is their chance. The only question is…how will they be incorporated into a workout.
