Emily Bridgers Games Career Ends With Dislocated Ankle

This was Emily Bridgers’ last CrossFit Games appearance. Bridgers was competing in her 5th and final CrossFit Games this year as she was set to retire after Sunday. Unfortunately for Bridgers, she withdrew this morning after dislocating her ankle and possibly tearing ligaments during The Battleground.

On the rope wall obstacle, Bridgers fell and landed awkwardly. Bridgers said, “Next thing I knew my ankle was facing the wrong direction. It popped back in, then out again, and back in.” And with that Bridgers CrossFit Games career is over.

Bridgers’ best finish was 6th at the 2014 CrossFit Games. Bridgers finished 24th in 2015, 29th in 2016 and 16th last year. She will officially finish 39th this season. Michele Fumagalli and Justine Beath have withdrawn from the Games as well.
