In the Sprint course, each heat would be cut from a quarterfinal of 20 athletes to a semifinal of 10 athletes and then a final sprint for the top five. Each event has massive weight with it in this new format of cuts throughout each workout, but perhaps the most important event when we look back at the entire weekend would be the Sprint.

What’s important to note is the point-per-placement spread changes from 3 points to a five-point spread. Which means the 5-point spread will help athletes make up ground if they’re able to secure an event win; it’s also going to create a wider separation at the bottom.
