Four European Sanctionals have confirmed that the CrossFit Open will be used as the online qualifier for the 2020 CrossFit Games season. CrossFit Strength in Depth, Reykjavik CrossFit Championship, CrossFit French Throwdown and the Norwegian CrossFit Championship have all committed to utilizing the CrossFit Open workouts as the method to advance to each Sanctional’s live final.
Each Sanctional will have their own leaderboards along with the number of athletes that will be invited to compete at the finals. More details from each Sanctional will be released over the coming weeks.
The announcement comes several weeks after three Sanctionals created the International Online Qualifier. With 32 Sanctionals scheduled for next year, the landscape of how the Games season is structured is definitely changing. Stay tuned to The Barbell Spin as we follow all of the action.
