Gabi Migala Withdraws from 2026 CrossFit Games; Aline Wirz Receives Backfill Invite

Gabi Migala was set to return to the CrossFit Games after tearing her Achilles tendon at the 2024 Rogue Invitational. However, this morning Migala announced that she has formally withdrawn from the 2026 CrossFit Games.

“As much as I’d love to compete in San Jose, and as much as I intend to compete at the Games in the future, this isn’t about simply making it back to competition. It’s about giving myself the best chance to perform at the level I know I’m capable of,” shared Migala in a post on Instagram.

Instead of competing at the 2026 CrossFit Games, Migala will give herself a few extra months to work on returning to her original form with the intention of competing at the 2026 Rogue Invitational in October.

In her return to competition this year, Migala won the MAD Fitness Festival Semifinal to qualify for the CrossFit Games. This came after 7th place finish at the Mayhem Classic in April. She also competed on a team at Wodapalooza back in March where her team, Just Girls, with Alexis Raptis and Paige Rodgers, won.

Now with Migala out, the backfill invite is slated to go to Aline Wirz. Wirz finished in 4th place at the MAD Fitness Festival. In speaking with Wirz, she confirmed that she has received an invite to compete at the CrossFit Games.
