Last February Haley Adams announced that she would be taking a year off from competing in the CrossFit Games season. Adams, who had made it to the CrossFit Games every year since 2016, needed to step away to improve her mental health. Now, as we are just weeks away from the start of the 2024 CrossFit Open, Adams has confirmed she will be competing again this year.
In a podcast interview on Made for More with Reagan Davis, Adams confirmed that she would be signing up for the Open, not just to participate, but to compete. She added, “I’m very excited to give it a run again, and this time in a different mindset and just in a way, a better place.”
When asked about expectations for the season, Haley shared, “I just don’t want to place expectations on myself because I’m such a perfectionist.” She continued, “I always want to do good [sic] in everything I do so I feel like it I don’t place expectations on myself and just go do my best, honestly, I’ll probably be happier and might even do better.”
Then while in Miami at TYR Wodapalooza, she told the Buttery Bros during a Q&A session at the WHOOP booth that she would be competing this year.
