The adaptive divisions were added to the CrossFit Games season in 2021. Over the course of the past three seasons participation among the adaptive community has grown significantly. And while there has been some controversy related to who could or could not compete this season, watching the adaptive athletes on the field or online is nothing short of amazing.
This year, as in previous year’s, three adaptive divisions were invited to compete at the CrossFit Games in Madison – Upper Extremity, Lower Extremity and Multi-Extremity. The other divisions, while they were recognized as the Fittest on Earth, competed only in the CrossFit Open – Vision, Short Stature, Seated w/ Hip, Seated w/o Hip and Intellectual.
We wanted to recognize all of the adaptive athletes in all divisions who earned a spot onto the podium this season, whether they were crowned at the CrossFit Games or earlier during the Open.
