It’s Official! Saxon Panchik is Going to the Games

Three days after Henrik Ingi Oskarsson was suspended for failing a drug test at the Reykjavik CrossFit Championship, Saxon Panchik was officially invited to compete at the 2019 CrossFit Games. The invitation was a result of several cascading impacts from Oskarsson’s suspension.

It all began with the Reykjavik CrossFit Championship the first weekend in May. At that Sanctional, Oskarsson finished in 2nd place to earn an invite to the CrossFit Games. Will Moorad finished in 3rd place.

Two weeks later, Moorad would head to Brazil to compete in the Brazil CrossFit Championship. Moorad would win the Sanctional just 6 points ahead of Saxon Panchik.

So when Oskarsson was disqualified, the Reykjavik CrossFit Championship invite transferred to Moorad. And since Moorad already qualified before Brazil, his invite transferred to Panchik.

Saxon will join his brother, Scott Panchik, once again this year. Saxon finished 19th at the 2019 CrossFit Games.
