Khrennikov, Toomey-Orr Ranked #1 in November’s Top 25 Media Poll

Over the past month we’ve been able to watch most of the top athletes hit the competition floor at the Rogue Invitational. It was also the first time Tia-Clair Toomey-Orr has competed since winning the 2022 CrossFit Games. And after the dust settled, Roman Khrennikov and Tia-Clair Toomey-Orr are still ranked #1 in The Spin Top 25 Media Poll.

Men’s Rankings

Roman Khrennikov and Jeff Adler each tied with 430 points, but Khrennikov earned the tiebreaker with eight first place votes compared to Adler’s seven. Pat Vellner rounded out the top 3.

The biggest improvement on the men’s rankings was Travis Mayer, moving from 22nd to 16th this month. Jayson Hopper moved up four spots to 10th. Mayer and Hopper finished 6th and 7th, respectively, at the 2023 Rogue Invitational.

Chandler Smith had the biggest drop, falling five spots down to 20th. Smith, who finished 7th at the CrossFit Games, has hinted that he may go team for the 2024 season.

And Austin Hatfield made his debut into the Top 25. Hatfield won the 2023 Crash Crucible last month and was just one spot shy of qualifying for the CrossFit Games out of the North America East Semifinal.

Women’s Rankings

Tia-Clair Toomey-Orr made her return to the competition floor at the Rogue Invitational, but fell short of capturing the title to Horvath. Horvath, coming off the victory at the CrossFit Games defended her title to win her second consecutive Rogue Invitational.

Despite this, Tia-Clair Toomey-Orr received 11 first-place votes and edged out Horvath for the top spot in November’s rankings. Emma Lawson and Alex Gazan remained unchanged and sit in 3rd and 4th, respectively.

Two of the biggest question marks heading into the 2024 CrossFit Games season is how will Haley Adams and Mal O’Brien do after taking a season off (or if they will return to competition). Adams was ranked 12th while O’Brien was ranked 14th.

As for newcomers, Dani Speegle jumped into the Top 25. She is now ranked 23rd in this month’s poll after finishing 9th at the Rogue Invitational. She replaces Annie Thorisdottir who dropped out of the rankings after announcing she was pregnant last month.
