After nine seasons and seven consecutive CrossFit Games appearances, Kristi (Eramo) O’Connell is retiring. O’Connell shared that she will be doing the CrossFit Open this year but will not continue on to the later stages of the CrossFit Games season.
Looking back at O’Connell’s CrossFit career, her first CrossFit Games appearance came in 2016 where she finished 8th overall. The next six seasons she qualified for the Games finishing no worse than 13th in any year.

Also, in 2016, Kristi and her husband, Patrick opened CrossFit Polaris in Westerville, Ohio, just outside of Columbus.
O’Connell’s departure from the sport adds to the list of top names who will not be competing this year. Tia-Clair Toomey, Kara Saunders, Haley Adams, Lucy Campbell and now Kristi O’Connell all competed at the 2022 CrossFit Games but will not be at the Games this year.
