More Handstand Walk Obstacle Courses in the Future

The handstand walk obstacle course was one of the cooler events to watch during this year’s CrossFit Invitational. The two-minute time capped event featured handstand walks over plates and zig-zagging around obstacles, similar to a slalom.

“I can guarantee you’ll see more of these [handstand walk obstacle courses] in the future.”

The fastest athlete Noah Ohlsen went unbroken and finished in 40 seconds while several athletes struggled with the final bumper plate pyramid.

But while most of the discussion from this weekend has focused on the changes to the 2018 CrossFit Games season, a comment Castro made earlier in the day has largely gone unnoticed. In an interview with Rory McKernan, Castro talked about the handstand walk obstacle course. Castro commented, “I can guarantee you’ll see more of these [handstand walk obstacle courses] in the future.”

This is not the last time we’ll see the handstand course, according to @thedavecastro. #CrossFit

So if you are a Regional-level athlete, make sure you can walk up steps and around objects or you will be left behind in the near future.
