Pat Vellner received his 3rd place medal after Ricky Garard was disqualified last month after failing his drug test. When this news broke, Vellner responded on Instagram stating that he was disappointed with the situation because we was unable to stand on the podium at the Games alongside fellow Canadian Brent Fikowski.
While nothing will be able to replace that experience, Dave Castro presented Vellner his 3rd place medal at an athlete dinner for thos competing in the CrossFit Invitational this week.
