Two weeks ago CrossFit announced that swimming would return to the 2026 CrossFit Games. The announcement added that the swim would be inside a pool.
Today, in Dave Castro’s interview with Lucy McGonigle, Castro confirmed two more details regarding this year’s swim event…

First, the swim will take place at the Morgan Hill Aquatic s Center, the location of the swim event at the 2020 CrossFit Games.
Second, the athletes will swim the 25-meter length rather than 50 meters across so that there are more than five athletes in each heat.

The swim event will take place on Wednesday, July 22.
On top of the 25-meter lengths, Castro has shared that he will likely not allow athletes to dive into the pool and to perform a flip turn (or tumble turn). Castro shared this during his interview on Sunday with Rachel Noel.
Then in his interview with McGonigle, Castro implied that part of the reason for not allowing the flip turn was due to athlete safety.
