After three-time individual CrossFit Games champion Rich Froning put Cookeville, Tennessee on the map, several high-profile athletes followed to train at CrossFit Mayhem. Now, CrossFit Mayhem, Froning’s gym, will host up to 60 individual competitive athletes at the CrossFit Mayhem Classic, one of the newest Sanctionals approved to qualify athletes for the 2020 CrossFit Games.
Following the lead of several other Sanctional events, the individuals-only competition will use the Open as its qualifier. The top five male and female athletes from the worldwide leaderboard will receive invites as well as the top 25 athletes on the CrossFit Mayhem Classic’s leaderboard, which athletes can register for online.
Athletes are required to submit video and scores to both the Open leaderboard as well as the Mayhem Classic leaderboard.
Mayhem is currently home to Games athletes Tia-Clair Toomey, Chyna Cho, Hayley Adams, Tasia Percevecz and Mat Fraser, when not working on his barn in Vermont.
